At 9: 20 p.m. , Mr. Steve Kyros from Mashpee was introduced who <br /> came to discuss his proposed start up business at Cape Drive <br /> and Rte. 28. He distributed a copy of the plan for a <br /> pastry/gourmet coffee shop. He Plans to widen Falmouth Road <br /> 6 feet at his own expense (estimated at $10 , 000-$20 ,000 ) . <br /> The building is a cape style house to yet away from a commercial <br /> look. It will be all counter service with a drive through in <br /> the back. He hopes to hire Mashpee employees. Mr. Kyros and <br /> his wife will manage it. Mr. Kyros stated that in one month <br /> his plan will be coming before the Town; he hopes to open this <br /> summer. Mr. Kyros has talked to DPW and the Building <br /> Inspector already. Mr. Kyros and his wife are meeting with <br /> Cape Cod Coffee as a possible vendor. <br /> Mr. Waters was invited to sit with the members. He stated he <br /> has lived in Mashpee full time for the past two years since <br /> his retirement with the Governor' s Safety and Highway Department. <br /> He expressed appreciation to the Committee for this opportunity . <br /> and hoped he could serve on EDC as a member. Sid stated the <br /> Committee will be in contact when the decision is made. <br /> The ED Coordinator' s Report of Activities was given by Wayne, <br /> and he distributed a written report herein attached. Wayne <br /> was advised to input data on the developable properties first <br /> and then then do the undeveloped. Re: Channel 11 interviews, <br /> it was suggested involving C Map, CC Coffee, CCS, and Evy <br /> Scotvold who wants to build a skating rink at Mashpee Commons. <br /> Sid emphasized getting Mashpee on the Financial Page of the <br /> newspapers. One of the topics suggested for a future release <br /> was "Mashpee Surfs the Net. " Wayne noted that Carl Heller from <br /> Bell Realty has requested more "Guidebooks" which Wayne will <br /> follow up. Sid asked that Wayne remind them to log in who <br /> receives them. Wayne will follow up on Pilgrim Pride; he will <br /> talk to the Health Inspector re: the septage problem and to <br /> Tom Fudala to get the history and status re: the permit. Wayne <br /> stated he met with Jim Vaccaro and Bob Whritenour along with <br /> Ted Lewis to discuss the possibility of the Town owning the <br /> Industrial Park. Bob Whritenour will talk with the Falmouth <br /> Executive Secretary to get a perspective. Sid suggested inviting <br /> former Boston Mayor Collins , a Falmouth Industrial Park member, <br /> to one of the EDC meetings; it was recommended he talk to Bob <br /> Whritenour about it.
