ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> SEPTEMBER 24, 1996 <br /> Paul Reynolds called the EDC meeting to order at 7: 05 p.m. at <br /> the Senior Center. <br /> Members present: Paul Reynolds , Gloria Dube, Ted Lewis. <br /> Alternates present: Cynthia Green, Sharon Koblinsky. <br /> Others present: Wayne Duchemin, EDC Coordinator. <br /> Chris Tufts , Sampson ' s Mill Road resident. <br /> Chris Tufts stated his concerns about the proposed changes to . <br /> Sampson' s Mill Road which he feels will cause traffic problems <br /> .and diminish his property. He suggested an alternative plan. <br /> Wayne stated that no final plans have been released to the <br /> public, and. there was really nothing to discuss at this time. <br /> The Committee took Mr. Tufts concerns under advisement. <br /> The Minutes of September 10 , . 1996 were approved as amended. <br /> There was no correspondence to report. <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR'S REPORT <br /> Wayne reported that Augat has not submitted a certified project, <br /> and he assumes they will be moving out this month as planned. <br /> The EOA Article has been submitted for the October Town meeting.. <br /> Ted suggested calling Jack Lynch at Augat to get an update. <br /> Wayne stated that he met with the PWED "players , " noting that <br /> Augat did not show up. They are open to providing the <br /> engineering costs of about $5 , 000 each in return for <br /> transportation improvements. There will be a follow-up meeting . <br /> Wayne will investigate the amount that has been expended for <br /> mitigation and what will be needed. The next step will be to <br /> go out to bid for engineering services. <br /> Wayne stated there has been no decision made on the Industrial <br /> Park development plan. The full Cape Cod Commission meeting <br /> and vote is scheduled for September 30th at 3 :00 p.m. Ted will <br /> try to attend this meeting. <br /> SUB COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> The EDC cookout will be held on Friday, October 25th, 6 : 00 p.m. <br /> at Sharon Koblinsky '.s home. The same potluck menu stands. <br /> Marketing Committee: Sharon Koblinsky stated the next meeting <br /> will be on October 7th, and she is looking for good, pro-active <br /> ideas. Sharon stated there was an article in the Wall Street <br /> Journal advertising the quality of life and properties available <br /> in Oklahoma City. Sharon suggested EDC may want to use this <br /> approach for Mashpee. <br />
