ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> DECEMBER 10, 1996 <br /> Paul ieyenolds called the EDC meeting to order at 7: 10 p.m. <br /> at the Senior Center. <br /> r0 <br /> Member's present: Paul Reynolds , Steve Kyros, Gloria Dube , <br /> ' Ted Lewis . <br /> Alternates: Steve Innis , Tom Potts <br /> Others: Jack Hart, Sound Productions <br /> Paul introduced Jack Hart of Sound Productions and turned the <br /> floor over to him. Mr. Hart gave a presentation on his <br /> iilultimedia business and the services it provides. He produces <br /> interactive CD' s for the computer which can also be played on <br /> a CD player. The average cost to produce an interactive CD <br /> is $3 , 000 - $4 , 000 . They can incorporate still shots and <br /> animation and mass produce there for $1 .00 each. He offered <br /> to make a CD for the Town of Mashpee which could be inserted <br /> in a pouch inside Mashpee ' s brochure. Recipients could then <br /> go to a Web site on the internet from CD Rom to get future <br /> updates . <br /> He played a video of some ads he recently produced. Mr. Hart <br /> offered to help EDC in the planning and marketing of Mashpee. <br /> He has experience with creating interactive kiosks , and he <br /> suggested Mashpee Commons as a good location for one. Mr. Hart <br /> left some brochures ,- and Paul stated EDC will spread the word <br /> about his business. Mr. Hart is looking for space to expand <br /> his business , and Paul suggested the Industrial Park incubator <br /> space. <br /> MENTOR PROGRAM <br /> Steve Innis stated there will be a meeting of the speaker <br /> participants on Tuesday, December 17th,. at 4: 30 p.m. in the <br /> Senior Center. They will talk about the topics each individual <br /> is bringing and how much time they will need. Steve stated <br /> that we may use SCORE materials ; they are SBA funded and free <br /> to us. The target kick off date is January 21st, and we need <br /> 10 people there. There will be radio and newspaper ads promoting <br /> this program and its sponsors. Paul will create a one-page <br /> application and simple brochure to highlight the sponsors and <br /> give a contact number. Paul will check with Bob W. about which <br /> nutaber to contact, the Selectmen' s office or Leisure Services . <br /> Tom Potts will look into having the cable TV station video tape <br /> the program and play it during the week on the local cable <br /> channel. Steve plans to tour the new Mashpee High School <br /> tomorrow and select the meeting room. <br />
