Pacre 3 - Board of Health Minutes_ 3f18J93
4
Mr. Greelish stated: "Technically you could rebuild the
house on the same footprint, you simply cannot increase its
size. "
Mr. McQuaid indicated that it will be up to the Build-
ing Inspector to determine at what elevation the basement
floor must be at.
Mr. Doherty indicated that the Board has once granted a
variance from the distance to the wetlands and that was 97
ft. and that was a hardship case.
New septic technology was discussed and its experimen-
tal nature at this time.
Mr. McQuaid indicated that as long as they are not in-
creasing habitable space they can tear down what is there
and rebuild within the same footprint without touching the
septic system. He further stated that we would not object to
adding on a utility room or bathroom since these are not
considered habitable space.
Mr. Greelish stated: "He (Bldg. Inspector) will have to
determine whether what is in the basement now should be con-
sidered habitable space. If it is and he requires that the
basement be raised out of the flood zone, we would look at
the plan to determine whether or not we agree with his de-
termination. "
Mr. McQuaid suggested a site visit with the Building
Inspector to determine what the basement is currently used
as.
i
3 . ) Copy of DEP Consent order to C.C.Holiday Estates re:_ Wa-
ter Usage_._ Mr. McQuaid indicated that they have until June
1995 to be tied into public water and that in the meantime
they must have a certified water operator under contract to
perform the necessary water sampling.
Mr. Doherty informed the Board that Seamist has hired
Dave Rich to do the necessary repairs to their water supply
using the Water District vehicle and probably during Water
District time. Mr. Doherty discussed the work Mr. Rich was
undertaking at Seamist.
Mr. Evans stated: "He (Mr. Rich) claims not to' be their
certified water operator but that one of his people is. "
Mr. Doherty stated: "Dave is the person giving 'the re-
pair specifications and instruction. "
Mr. Greelish indicated surprise that these two com-
plexes are not on town water.
