TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> December 7, 1995 <br /> Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Members present: John T. Doherty, Robert F. Cram, Sr. <br /> TILE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY. <br /> Mr. John T_ Doherty, Chairman <br /> 1.) Warrants signed. <br /> 2.) Mr. Cram motioned to accept the minutes of November 16, 1995, Mr. Doherty <br /> seconded. <br /> APPOINTMENT: Douglas Alves- Illegal Dumping(Santos) <br /> Mr. Alves was in att.erdance for this scheduled appointment. <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "Mr. Alves came in subsequent to receiving his certified <br /> letter and took full responsibility for the dumping." "Apparently, Mr. Alves rents from <br /> Mr. Santos and part of the rental agreement is that he takes care of the trash." "On tliis <br /> one instance Mr. Alves did not remove the trash someone else did." "I showed Mr. Alves <br /> the location of the trash." "I -vill clearly state that 90% of the trash there had been there <br /> i <br /> for years." "There was a small amount of household trash which is how I got Mr. Santos <br /> name." "Mr. Alves agreed to clean up the entire site by tonight." "He is requesting we <br /> rescind the $300.00 violation." "I inspected the site today and verified that indeed, he <br /> cleaned up the entire site." <br /> Mr: Alves stated, "My truck broke down so or.this once instance some individuals <br /> agreed to dump the trash forme." "I am requesting the Board reconsider the fine." <br /> Mr. Doherty stated, "Seeing that the site was cleaned up to the satisfaction of the <br /> health agent I would entertain a motioned to rescind the fine." <br /> Mr. Cram motioned to rescind the illegal dumping fine issued to Mr. Santos, Mi.. <br /> Doherty seconded, all agreed. <br />
