Warrants signed. <br /> PROPOSED BOARD OF HEALTH REGULATION TO PROTECT WATER <br /> QUALITY IN THE TOWN OF MASHPEE FOR ALL COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES <br /> Those present: Representatives from the Mashpee Taxpayer's Association, <br /> Representatives from the Mashpee Environmental Coalition, Mr. Wayne Duschman, <br /> Water District Commission Mr. Russell Babcock, Water District Commission Edward <br /> Baker, Mr. Ben Gordon, Mr. Ray Bowman, Mr, Daniel O'Neil, Edward Pesce, Ms. <br /> Stephanie Jones, Ms. Beverly Caine, Mr. Ronald Myenito, Mr. George Costa, Mr. Glenn <br /> Santos and concerned citizens of the town. <br /> Mr. Cram stated, "We are conducting this public information hearing in regards to <br /> nitrogen loading from commercial facilities in sensitive areas." "We have been approached <br /> by the Mashpee Environmental Coalition to adopt a nitrogen loading regulation for <br /> commercial facilities in town." "We would like to receive the public's input in regards to <br /> this regulation." "We have a map this evening which delineates the Zone II contribution <br /> areas which this would be in, in regards to public water supply." "This was established by <br /> D.E.P. ." "It encompasses a good deal of the commercial areas and the Mashpee River." <br /> "One of reasons why we wanted to bring this to your attention is that the new Title V <br /> requires, under section 15.214 "Nitrogen Loading Limitations" that no area shall receive <br /> more than 440 gallons of design flow per acre." "This would keep the nitrogen loading at <br /> a low level of approximately 5 m.g.l.'s total nitrogen standing." "In this particular area <br /> Conservation has very stringent regulations because of the wetland area." <br />
