Doherty <br /> THE TAPE IS NOT PART OF THE MEETING IT IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY. <br /> Mr. Robert F. Cram, Chairman <br /> 1.) Warrants signed. <br /> 2.) Mr. Doherty motioned to accept the minutes of July 23, 1998, Mr. Ball seconded, <br /> all agreed. <br /> 3.) Latest round of pond test results - Mr. McQuaid stated, "Everything came up <br /> clean except in every pond there is a minor detection of MTBE varying from 2.1 p.p.b. to <br /> 3.8 p.p.b.." "This is not attributable to the plumes emanating from the base this is a <br /> gasoline additive which was introduced in 1986 to prevent anti-knocking on unleaded <br /> gas." "I do intend to prepare a statement to the media indicating all the test results of this <br /> summer." "Selectperson Caffyn did request we provide this information to the news <br /> media." <br /> 4.) Complaint re: Transfer Station staff- Mr. McQuaid relayed, "I spoke with the <br /> Town Clerk and Mr. DiMaggio." "I instructed Mr. DiMaggio to instruct his employee <br /> that the portable stickers are valid." "Ms. Dami recommends we forward a letter to the <br /> complainant informing him the staff at the Transfer Station has been instructed to lay-off _ <br /> people with portable stickers." "If that's not satisfactory to the complainant then we will <br /> refund his money." <br /> Mr. Ball commented, "According to the other party the complainant was quick <br /> tempered." <br /> APPOINTMENT: Holmes&McGrath- 42 Great River Road <br /> Attorney Jeffrey Oppenheim and Mr. Steve Silvia representing the engineering firm <br /> of Holmes and McGrath were in attendance for this scheduled appointment. <br />
