<br /> <br />LIBRARY DIRECTOR’S REPORT <br />August was a busy month. 115 new cards were issued. They maintained operations <br />under 48 hours, they have not reached 50 hours yet. There are some prospects <br />undergoing the interview process. <br /> <br />Children’s Room <br />The Children’s Room is coming along with interior renovations. There were 200 kids <br />in the summer reading program. The program focuses on cultivating a love for <br />reading as opposed to assigning books or reports. The Summer Eats program was <br />successful. Ms. Mahoney was asked to be a speaker and discuss the community <br />meals and the impact of the program at the YMCA Board leadership retreat. There is <br />discussion on possible year-round food and snacks for adults. <br /> <br />Building and Grounds <br />The AC has been experiencing intermittent problems but is always fixed within the <br />day. The IT Director has been busy, hopefully we will get the new hardware soon. <br />They continue to host HOA meetings and Red Cross blood drive. The library is a <br />voting site for the state primary. <br /> <br />Website Project <br />Changes were made and when time permits additional updates will be made. <br /> <br />Budget <br />The Library Director is working on the financial report and ARIS. Town Meeting is <br />st <br />October 21. There are 4 Articles on the Warrant. <br /> <br />FRIENDS LIAISON REPORT <br />There is no meeting this month. The raffle tickets raised $6,000. There is a new <br />member-at-large, Carol Geller, who is very connected in the community. The new <br />Treasurer, Susan Kams, will meet with members of the Investment Committee for <br />the endowment. The Friends are still seeking a President. <br /> <br />The Friends are hosting the tea and art auction and have sold 90 tickets thus far. <br />The tickets can be purchased online, or a check can be sent to reserve a seat. <br />Several local artists donated pieces. <br /> <br />TRUSTEE EDUCATION/OUTREACH UPDATES <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
