Both.duly measurements showed the
lake to be above 5 6 feet. DPW had removed some sand from the area between the i etties and just below
the dam. A guest, Nfimi Joseph voiced concern nth the continued high water level. She planned to talk
with the Selectmen at eir next meeting, and en oura ed committee members to attend. Ed Baker
presented a graph he had made, shoving the lake levels measurements since Dec.-of 04. With the
exception of one measurement last September, the lake has been above the 55.5 ft. above sea level which
is the goal recommended by Horsley& Witten.
Mr. l arsters now has his pontoon boat in the water, and discussion was held about inviting Maxine
ine
Wolfset, Conservation, interested Selectmen, and Ed Baker to go on a field trip around Mashpee and
akeby Ponds. It is hoped that film M* g for our documentary on the lake could begin before the next
meeting.
Conclusions: The lake level remains too high, and erosion continues, especially with large boat vales.
Some members plan to attend the next Selectmen's meeting to ask for better management of the dam
controlling the lake level.
Rweitlaunen-&eaprp. s.
blein
#
gen' da-top
Discussion: Many questions asked of the Town Manager on June 27,2006 remain unanswered. it is not
known if Leisure Services has been asked to hand out boating rubs, when fees for launching a boat will
increase, whether boat length can be regulated through the town, whether nevi signage is posted at the
boat launch area or if Assistant Harbormasters were trained.
Conclusions- Hopefully, infonnation from Joyce Mason Vile he available before our next meeting.
