ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES AUGUST 27 , 1997 Wayne Duchemin, Acting Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7: 05 p.m. in Conference Room #2 at Mashpee Town Hall . Present were: Fred DiMeco, Jack Hart, Steve Kyros , Peter Mulvey. Wayne D. announced that Cynthia Green has resigned from EDC. MINUTES The Minutes of June 5 , 1997 and July 29 , 1997 were moved by Fred D. , seconded by Steve K. Unanimous . CORRESPONDENCE Wayne D. stated there was no significant correspondence to' report. He is expecting a letter of resignation from Cynthia Green. Wayne D. circulated an article on the Industrial Park. Fred D. asked how leads are followed up, any telephone contact. Wayne D. stated no phone contact, they are mailed a Mashpee Guide for Business. Fred D. suggested allotting each sub committee a certain amount of iaoney to spend. Jack H. suggested that each sub committee present their plans for the year alone with a budget request. Wayne D. will briny to the next meeting the latest budget printout for line items . Wayne D. noted that EDC is an advisory committee to the Selectmen with an informal structure. ELECTION OF OFFICERS EDC decided to table this task until all the members were present to vote . i APPROVAL OF WORK PLAN Wayne D. noted this is EDC' s basic framework, and we can add more specific itertis later. Jack H. suggested including the Organizational Structure' into 'the FY97/98 Work Program and make the assumption that monies will be allocated to each sub committee. Jack H. asked if there are any projects planned for the present monies? Wayne D. stated he plans to do a direct mailing to CEO' s in Willowbend a-rid New Seabury, approximately 75 two-color foldout brochures which will cost around $200. Fred D. displayed some marketing products for Newport- and noted that we would have to allocate . around $5 ,000 to hire someone to do this type of professional work for Mashpee.
