MASHPEE AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMIVHTTEE <br />Notes 10-14-04 <br />Present: Zella Elizenberry, Louise Patrick, Deb'orah Battles, Eric Smith <br />There was no quorum for the Committee. <br />• New Business: <br />• Housing Assistance Corporation presented a preliminary proposal for <br />affordable apartments at the site of the Plaza del sol Motel on Rte. 130. <br />There are 14-16 units being proposed. HAC wants to purchase and <br />renovate the property. HAC is looking for a letter of support from the <br />AHC. <br />+ Zella responded that that the proposal seems like a good idea, but as there <br />was no quorum, the discussion will have to be taken up at the next <br />meeting. <br />• Steve Giatrelis and JW Miller presented their 40B plan for apartments at <br />508 Main Street. The property is 48 acres. They are proposing a <br />subdivision with 2 commercial lots, and 10 industrial lots. The affordable <br />component is apartments. There will be 5 buildings, with 24 units in each, <br />for a total of 120 twits. The buildings will be phased in. all units are <br />rentals, 25% will be affordable. <br />• Draft Housing Plan <br />• Eric suggested that the 1995 Comprehensive Plan be reviewed and any <br />relevant suggestions be added to the current draft. <br />• Zella asked if the AHC should prioritize recommendations. <br />• Deb expressed concern about some inaccuracies describing Mashpee <br />Village on page 10. <br />• Eric suggested that sources be cited. <br />• Deb asked about composition of the Community Preservation Committee <br />• Suggestion was made that "village centers" on page 21 be identified <br />• Eric suggested that the plan acknowledges the Affordable Housing <br />Committee. <br />• Eric will submit the comments from the meeting and get final draft in <br />order to review and submit to selectmen after Nov meeting. <br />
