BAILEY, DIRECTOR of ASSESSING <br /> The regular meeting was held in the Assessing Department ' s <br /> s <br /> temporary office, a trailer located at the rear of Mashpee Town <br /> Hall , Mashpee, Massachusetts. This site is being used while Town <br /> Hall is being renovated and Assessing ' s new office location is <br /> being prepared. <br /> The regular meeting was called to order by Chairman Greig at <br /> 6 : 20 p.m. <br /> MINUTES of THE MEETINGS: <br /> There were no Minutes of the Meetings presented to The Board <br /> for review. The Minutes of the Meeting of July 9 , 1996 , will b <br /> acted upon at the next regular meeting. <br /> c NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 41C Exemption ApjRlication - Doris Buchelt, Applicant <br /> Chairman Greig informed that Ms. Susan Collum. has <br /> presented the application for The Board ' s review and action. The <br /> applicant is a widow; her husband, Walter E. Buchelt, passed away <br /> on January 2 , 1996 . Mr.'-. reig explained that Mrs . Buchelt did <br /> not turn ache 70 until July 9 , 1996 ; - had she turned ache 70 prior <br /> to July 1 , 1996, she would- have qu lified for the exemption. <br /> Lengthy discussion followed. . <br /> David Bailey pointed out that Mr. Buchelt ' s ache 2 <br /> would have qualified hire for the exemption had he been alive on <br /> July 1 , 1996 . He expressed opinion that the exemption cannot be <br /> granted to Mrs , Buchelt. However? she could file for a deferral <br /> if she so chooses; * the financial information' presented does <br /> qualify her. More discussion followed. <br /> Vice Chairman porter made motion The Board deny the <br /> 41C Ex�yempt ion to Doris Buchelt; Marcia King made second the <br /> motion; motion passed; unanimous decision. David Bailey stated <br /> that Assessing will inform Mrs . Buchelt of her options . <br />
