• <br /> TOWN OMASHPEE <br /> BOAR] of ASSESSORS <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of,January 31, 2003 <br /> Committee Attendees: <br /> Les Greig, Chairman <br /> Marcia King, Vice Chairman + <br /> Heather Noyes, Clerk <br /> David Bailer, Director of Assessing <br /> Chairman Les Greig called the meeting to order at 12:40 PIVI. Minutes from the 12102/02 meeting were <br /> reviewed. The committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes. <br /> Marcia King made.a motion, seconded by Heather cores, that the Board accept the sic applications for real <br /> estate tax abatement listed on state Tax Form 155 dated January 2003, beginning with the name Stanney Jr., <br /> Gerald H and Basan L., and ending with the name Morgan, .Jaynes C. The Board voted unanimously to approve <br /> the motion. (See Attachment A for complete list) <br /> Marcia Ding made a motion, seconded by Les Greig, that the Board deny the sixteen applications for real estate <br /> property tax abatement listed on State Tax Form 155 dated January 2003, beginning with the name Regan, � <br /> George K Sr., and ending with the name Gainsboro, Craig Alan co. The Board voted unanimously to approve <br /> the motion. (See Attachment B for complete list) <br /> Marcia King made a motion, seconded by Les Greig, that the Board accept the nineteen applications for <br /> personal property tax abatement listed on state Tac Form 155 dated January 2003, beginning with the name <br /> Shields, Joan K. and ending with the name Petrucci, Harry J. The Board voted unanimously to approve the <br /> motion. (See Attachment C for complete list) <br /> Marcia King made a motion, seconded by Les Greig, that the Board deny the fire applications for personal <br /> property tax abatement listed on State Tax Form 155 date"d .January 2003, beginning with the name Regan, <br /> George K.Jr., and ending with the name Stratford Pond LLC. The Board voted unanimously to approve the <br /> motion. (See Attachment D for complete list) <br /> Dave Bailey reported receipt of a letter from the Ma hpee Water Department requesting the transfer of$30,000 <br /> from the Overlay accounts to the Overlay Reserve See Attachment E). Marcia King made a ,notion, seconded <br /> by Heather Noyes, that the Board approve the release of$30,000 from the Mashpee Water Department Overlay <br /> accounts for transfer to overlay Reserve, to make available for appropriation to cover outstanding takes. The <br /> Board voted unanimously in favor of the ,notion. <br /> Les Greig asked about the possibility of spreading the tax increase of the third and fourth quarters throughout all <br /> four quarters. Dave Bailey stated that it would be possible to add the 2'1/2 that is automatically added every <br /> year to the preliminary billing, on to the first and second quarter bilis. Capabilities of the new tax billing software <br /> might be an issue. At this point, the current billing system and the new billing system act as a check and <br /> balance against each other. Dave agreed to investigate the feasibility of the suggestion. <br /> Dave T Lely reported on one additional tax abatement application. The property is shown on Map 72, Parcel 22, <br /> located at 93 old Brickyard Road, owned by Brickyard Marketplace Nominee Trust. The property did not print <br /> out on the abatement application list because the parcel does not exist. Marcia !Wing made a motion that the <br /> Board deny the tax abatement application. Heather Noyes seconded the motion.
