TOWN OF MASHPEE BOARD OF ASSESSORS !Minutes of the Meeting of Wednesday, August 9, 2006 Board Members Present; Also Present: .Jason Streeb 1, Chairman Tony Podlesney, Assistant Assessor Paul Andrews, Clerk Chairman Mason Stre bel called the meeting to order at 5:48 PM. Jason Streeb l stated that Tony Podlesney was sifting in for John Duffy, representing the Assessor 's Office. i REVIEW OF MINUTES The minutes from the meeting of July 19, 2006 were corrected as follows: Page 1, under Director of Assessing Deport, , line 2, replace the words"roof yet looked af Frith the words "not yet field reviewed ` Paul Andrews moved that the minutes from 7119106 be approved as corrected. Jason Streebel seconded the motion. All approved. BOARD OF ASSESSORS REPORT 1. Kapinos Field Review. Tony Podlesney reported that in reaction to phone calls about the Field Review, ads had been planed on the website as well as in local papers. i 2. UMa s Workshop Amherst, MA. Jason Stye bel reported that Fre has been in attendance at a Commercial Valuation course, held at the annual MAAO School at UMa s in Amherst. There Were 240pople in attendance at the ,school. The course will be continuing through Friday, August 11 Paul Andrews voiced his appreciation to.Jason Str ebel for taking an interest in furthering his professional development and enrichment of the Board of Assessors. . Announcement of Administrative Leave of Absence. . Jason Stree el announced that John Duffy is now on adrnini trab a leave of absence, as of Thursday, August 3, 2006. . DIRECTOR OF ASSESSING REPORT I. RRC Report. Tony Podlesney reported that the Real Estate Research Consultants(RRC)were in the office today, and that things were going well. They have received a list of addresses for the Poppy's Marketplace businesses located there. 2. Assessing Office Position Vacancy. Torry stated that there had been several promising potential applicants for the vacancy. One of these applicants would be available to start right away. . Personal Exemption Applications. Tony stated that the personal exemption applications were sent out on 8/01/06. OLD BUSINESS. I. Open Beam on the BOA. Paul Andrews reported that Sheldon Holzer had been notified of the vacancy on the Board, and was scheduled to meet with Town Manager Joyce Mason on Th u rsday, August 1&at 9 AIM to discuss the positron opening. Mr. Holzer had opposed Paul Andrews for the open BOA seat that existed back in January 2006, when Paul was appointed to the positron. Paul r +1
