i <br /> TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD ASSESSORS <br /> Minutes of the Meeting Wednesday, September 20, 2006 . <br /> Board Members Present: Also Present: <br /> Paul Andrews, Chairman Tony Podlesney, Assistant Assessor <br /> Jason Streebel, Vice Chairman <br /> Sheldon Holzer, Clerk <br /> Chairman Paul Andrews called the meeting to order at 5:47 PM. <br /> REVIEW of MINUTES of AUGUST 30,2006 <br /> The Board unanimously approved the minutes of the meeting held on 6!30/06. <br /> BOARD of ASSESSORS REPORTS <br /> Paul Andrews ;-chairman <br /> 1. Paul Andrews reported on a telephone call received from Joyce Mason informing him that she <br /> and Assistant Town Manager Rene Read d had met recently with Brace Anderson, retired Town of <br /> Brewster Director of Assessing. Joyce Mason and her. Freed had invited Mr. Anderson to the <br /> Assessors Office to meet the staff. Mr. Anderson will be working as a consultant in the <br /> Assessor's Office up to 30 fours per week, if needed, and will be available through November of <br /> 2006. Joyce Mason felt that the Assessors Office would need additional short-teem assistance <br /> through the tax-setting season, and that Mr. Anderson would give the incoming Director of <br /> Assessing assistance in acclimating him to the office: Paul Andrews responded to Joyce Mason <br /> that if she and Rene Read were comfortable with their decision, and with Mr. Anderson, that he <br /> was, too and would report to the BOA of this action. Mr. Anderson started work on Monday, <br /> Sept. 1 }2006. <br /> . Paul Andrews reported that at a Town of Mashpee Finance Committee meeting earlier this <br /> month, the decision was made not'to endorse a warrant for the refinancing of the stipend for <br /> Board of Assessors members. The warrant will be included in the October 16 Town Meeting. <br /> Jason Streebel—!lice chairman <br /> 1. Jason Streebel reported on his attendance at a Cape cod Commission meeting at the Senior <br /> Center'on the LiveMork ork expansion proposal for Mashpee Commons. The meeting was confined . <br /> to discussion of the commercial live/work units being proposed. The consensus at the meeting <br /> was that the Townspeople are Very much in favor of the project. Timeline for completion of the <br /> project is 10 to 15 gears. At this point the Cape Cod Commission is finalizing a few ming points, <br /> i.e., sufficient street lights, water run-off, sidewalk layouts. There is no idea of cost of the project <br /> at this point. For Assessing Office purposes, the project classification will be mixed use property <br /> fees. <br /> Sheldon Toler—clerk <br /> Sheldon.Holzer reported that h e has begun reviewing the course material for the Assessing 10 1 <br /> course. hei'don will download the test and resend hiti input online. <br /> ASSESSING OFFICE REPORT <br /> Tony Podlesney-Assistant Assessor. <br /> 1. Tory Podlesney reported that Brace Anderson started work on 3116106. Mr. Anderson is <br /> attempting to settle the 14 outstanding ATB cases. The hearing is scheduled for December 1 ', <br /> 2006. Mr.Anderson is worming on clearing street betterments. <br /> i <br />
