Costello, Town Counsel,
Ed Larkin, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Approval of Minute
Ruth 11 aney motioned to accept the minutes of August 26,2004; as presented; this
motion was seconded by Chairman Ed Larkin; and was unanimously carried, except Ikon
Myers abstained,
Discussion
s
Question was raised that if we go back to General Code to re-codify the By-Daws
document would they undo the renumbering we proposed and go back to current system
with the gaps? Response was that we have full authority to do the re-numbering under
the supervision of Town Counsel. However, Pat will loop at legal side of this to be sure
what contracts, if any, exist with General Code. Its any event, if General Code were
going to publish the By-Laws, we should be able to dictate numbering format to be used.
This will be checked.
Ed mentioned to the Committee that he and Pat will put together a.draft of pages 1 to 10
of the changed -Laws and this draft will be given to the Committee in time for the
Committee to review prior to our next meeting. In drafting the document it is better to
keep topics together—for instance, anything on fisheries would be together. This makes
for ease of referencing the By-Laws,
