Virgilio called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br /> The minutes of the February 13, 2003 were approved. <br /> In reviewing the sections ofthe Ryles ofOperation for the Town Cemetery the <br /> Commissioners discussed amending the following: <br /> Section VH,Instructions To Lot Holders and Lot Ho rs'Rights, Subsection H, remove <br /> the wording, "and not for resale or profit,'and add Subsection I, A lot holder may not <br /> resell a lot to which he has title, except back to the Town of Mashpee for the same price <br /> paid, less twenty-five percent 25% for administrativ and maintenance costs. <br /> Section X11, Conduct in the Cemetery, Subsection B, add the wording: Disposal of <br /> household trash in these receptacles is prohibited. Any persons violating the provisions <br /> of this section shall he punished by a fine ofthree hundred dollars ($300). Any such <br /> violation shall constitute a separate offense on each successive occasion, <br /> Section XXII,In General, add Subsection F, Any Person who violates these rules and <br /> regulations and/or willfully damages, defaces or destroys cemetery property, including <br /> fences, gates, grounds, site furnishings, structures, plantings, markers, and monuments <br /> shall be subject to prosecution. <br /> Section X1, Use ofCemetery, remove Subsections H, I, and J. Reword Subsection G. to <br /> read: Decoration of Plots, 1. Annual/perennial flowers may be planted around the Mase of <br /> a monument as shown in Figure 1. (See Attached) The depth ofthe planting area shall not � <br /> exceed six inches " so as not to interfere with maintenance of the cemetery. 2. The <br /> planting of trees or shrubs on a plot shall he prohibited. 3. Potted plants may be placed <br /> immediately adjacent a monument. The diameter of the pot may not exceed twelve <br /> inches (12"). 4. Metal, ground level or half-exposed vases are allowed,provided they are <br /> placed within six inches of the Mase of the monument. 5. Wreaths and Christmas greens <br /> shall be allowed from December 1"to February 1't. 6. Artificial flowers properly secured <br /> shall he allowed from November 1"to April Vt. 7. Glass/ceramic containers or <br /> ornaments, urns, flower boxes, fences, curbing, and crushed stone are prohibited. 8. <br /> Religious artifacts and vigil candles shall be allowed on a plot, provided they are placed <br /> within six inches of the base of the monument and they are not made of glass or ceramic <br /> material. 9. Personal mementos or keepsakes, including, hut'not limited to, stuffed <br /> animals, toys, decorative flags, and photographs, shall be removed after a suitable time <br /> period at the discretion of the Cemetery Commission or Cemetery Superintendent.
