Advisors present : wilmont Merrow, Judy Mills , Gerald Sprout. David Sharpe , resident of Mashpee and abidi .g at santuit Pond appeared informally before the Commission. to discuss the severe accumulation of debris , especially heavy debris such as vehicle tires , old water heaters and that sort of thing, He emphasized that a. person would have to go to a, lot of trouble to get that 'rstuff" in there . This debris in manor areas blocks or clogs the various waterways , i .e. brooks , .rivers , creeks impeding the mig- ration and then the spawning of the herring. In order to clear these obstruc tions , it would necessary t walk the entire length of the waterways and "hand-pick" such debris and remove it, There is no vehicular access . Ms . d.uPont said that she and Mr. Vergilio , Department of Public Works axed now Harbor Master) have discussed this situation Mr. Sharpe stated that portions of the Quashnet River, property that is owned by the Town- of M sh ee , are "bone dry" .
