W .t r -shed Vines, enc i s t i ng and pro-
posed, were shown on the plans f - Drainage i p f led' up in' a- sub-surface convey-
ance system to catch basins then to discharge towards a pond constructed on the
golf course in 1965-66. There is no bordering vegetated wetland around the pond
but it is a pond over 10,000 square feet' i n size with no channelized inlets or
outlets and exists at elevation sic. There may have been some tines when subject
to seawater inundation- at•a very high tide situation. Permits on all septic sys-
tems have been received from the Board of Health. No specific varianoes are re-
quired as this discharge is not tributary to a public water supply.
Ms Behrman asked the Conservation Officer to check variance requirements with
the Beard of Health. she questioned the road drain structure to prevent gasoline
and volatilesfrom getting down into the bay.
Mr. Hogan stated a gas trap could easily be placed.
John Ila rkonda questioned the volume of water.
Mr. Hogan stated there are five catch basins and the 15 inch pipe has sufficient
capacity up to and i'ncluding the one hundred year storm. It is not designed as a
leaching bas j,n. The total water shed area is 2.38 acres .
John questioned whether a rise i n the elevation of the pond would be caused. Mr.
Hogan stated the pond is 12,000 square feet and a Ten year avant would definitely
cause a rise in the pond, however, there is some flooding that tabes place on the
golf course itself and the storage area goes up.
Ms Behrman questioned the number of housing units being serviced by road drains .
Mr. Hogan stated there wi i 1 be 37. It was noted almost every unit has a swimming
pool 1 and Ms Behrman questioned the draining of pools. Mr. Hogan stated there i
io direct connection between drainingof pools and road drains . They will be dis-
charged
is-
charged over the ground with provisions for chlorine to be withheld three days prior
to draining . Ms Behrman pcinted out none of the pools would be coming before the
Board for an Order of' and i t ions .
The Commission agreed if a pool maintenance company serviced them, they would be
drained within aN very close period of time and this would have to be considered,
