Marinas and float storage. Bob Sherman said he wrote letters to the Little Fiver
Boat Yard, New seabury Marina and others per the October 3, 2002 minutes, and he
received letters in reply from Little River and New seabury marinas saying that
complying with our request would create a hardship for thea. Perry Ellis and Rick York
agree it's a hardship and made the valid point that storing the boats In the water at the
marinas in some ways may be less harmful than moving therm to another place, since
it's very hard, for people to find a place to store buts In the winter except on the salt
marsh, a bank, 'or a beach. The Harbor Master and the Shellfish Warden seat letters to
Bob concurring. Bob said he has not received any complaints this year about this
issue, and he thinks we should reconsider, and he recommended that he send another
letter to everyone saying to disregard his initial letter. He added that there's no
shellfishing in the marinas anyway.
Elliot and Michael asked whether we should supervise where they will keep the boats,
and Bob said we could ask the marinas not to file, but sketch in their plan this boat
storage area.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve the proposal to allow
i water storage of the boats and floats, with the request that the marinas sketch in their
plan this boat storage area.
