Mashpee Finance Committee Minutes <br /> June 12,2008 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall,Selectmen's Conference Room <br /> Meeting called to order at: Chairman Sandra Lindsey called the meeting of the Finance <br /> Committee order at 6:35 p.m. at the Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Sandra Lindsey,Chairman; Chuck Gaslor,Vice-Charman; Oskar Klenert, <br /> Clerk; Lynda Carroll; Bili Johnson <br /> Absent: Chris Avis; Bob Hutchinson <br /> Others: Joyce Mason,Town Manager; Rene' Read,Assistant Town Manager <br /> ApRroval of Minutes: Bbl Johnson moved to approve the Minutes of April 24,2008. <br /> Oskar 10enert seconded. All were in favor. Chuck Gasior was not present at the April <br /> 4,2008 meeting and abstained from approval of the Minutes. <br /> H. Correspondence: <br /> Agenda--Board of Selectmen,Monday,Jure 1 ,2008 <br /> Chairman Lindsey opened the meeting by introducing hose present, and noting the account <br /> balance in the reserve fund of Thirty Thousand one Hundred Fourteen ($30,11.4.55) <br /> Dollars and 55/100. <br /> U1*Requests for'Transfer: Request for Transfer to theVeterans Services,from the <br /> reserve fund,in the amount of Four Thousand Fine Hundred($4,900.00)Dollars and <br /> 00/100. 'Where is a deficit in the amount of Three Thousand Four Hundred Sixteen Dollars <br /> ($3,416.95)and 961100 in the Veterans' account. Oskar Klenert inquired about <br /> consequences of not having this fund(Reserve Fund)available, and Joyce Mason stated <br /> money would Borne from budget cuts,etc. Ms. Mason further confumed that One Hundred <br /> Thousand Dollars($100,000.00)and 001100 has been set aside for the '09 budget, and <br /> assessments of the account will be rade quarterly. <br /> There was discussion regarding budget shortfalls. Ms. Mason vas aware that energy costs/ <br /> fuel would cut into Fire and Police budgets, but was surprised about the size of the shortfalls. <br /> Lynda Carroll commented on the increase in food distribution to Veterans. Available food <br /> pantries were discussed, and Ms. Carroll coufmned,that there are plenty of donations. <br /> Oskar Klenert proved to transfer Four'thousand Nine Hundred Dollars f$4.900.00) and <br /> 00/100 from the reserve fund to Veteran's Service.
