r Mashpee Pubfic Library GREAT NECK ROAD lAPEE, MASS. 064 Minutes of the Meeting March 12, 1979 Present: Eleanor--Jean Cohen, Cndrea Robertson, Arnold Swenson, Avis McKinley., Susan Van l Gloria Selander, Librarian. - Absent: ibraian. - Absent: Esther -Smith, Alice Hicks. The minutes -of the previous meeting were accepted as read, The minutes of the specail meeting were accepted as read. A short letter was received from Town Counsel Reardon saying that if the Board has any further questions regarding the Library Account in the trusteeship of the Town Treasurer, he weld be happy to meet with us again. Librarian Is report: w Circulation for the month of February was 4U. The teen-age ba -sitting class was not well attended. Account balances are: Expense 41+222.69; Sa.ldr . $1352; fag $1037,65; -Revolving—no change. There are book orders still outstanding, totaling approximately $500. fir. Calli has not been in since February 1. Mrs. Sel.ander has no idea if he has dropped out of the intern program or plans to continue. Meanwhile., requests are stip coming in for another arts and crafts series. Mrs. Selander is to write a note to Mr. Calli on behalf of the Board, asking if Mr. Call intends to have another arts and crafts se ries. A puppet show has been arranged for May 5 in Town Ha11 auditorium. A discussion followed concerning our purchase of a new typewriter. Mrs Selander has called all local dealers of well-known brands and received estimates o $500 t $1200' We are eligible for a discount, amounting t 200 to $400. The Board suggested that Mfrs. Selander contact some of the dealers again and see if they would be willing to let her use a machine in the library for a few days. Then she would be better able to make a recommendation of a particular model. The chairman has talked with the Board of Library Cossioners and has been assured that there should be no problem with ou ,grant application being approved. The Mashpee Child Development Club has requested the use of the conference room again, for the September 1979 to June 1980 school year. They are actively seeking other spacep but want to be assured of at least one place to hold classes in September. Noted 4,.-1-0 to allow use of the room. Mrs. Robertson abstained from voting because of her In olvment in the club. The library budget for Fiscal 1980 was approved by the Board, for a total of 1 ., 125.
