MASS.. 02649 <br /> BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEE <br /> MINUTES OF THE MCETING OF AR RIL 13, 1981 <br /> Present: ndrea Robertson, Eleanor-Jean Cohen, Patricia Shapiro, <br /> Arnold Swenson, Susan van Tel; Gloria Selander, Librarian <br /> Absent: Mary Mone, Avis McKinley <br /> The minutes of the previous me.,etin were accepted as printed. <br /> Reports: Librari'an's as -printed. Comment - There i money -in the <br /> expense acaoun't to accommodate anyone who wishes to attend <br /> the Annual Massachusetts Library Association Conference to <br /> be held at the Sheraton Sturbridge Inn on May 11 & 12. <br /> Friends-i Mr. Doherty, ` iendsl President,. was unable to make <br /> this meeting due to illness. Be notified Mrs. Robertson that <br /> another representative of the Friends would be present; <br /> however, no one arrived. <br /> Old Business: <br /> Request to Personnel Board for Library .'gide position; <br /> reallocation of present Aide position to Library Assistant position. <br /> Letter of March 23, 1981, from the Personnel Board, <br /> notifying the trustees that they voted to support our request <br /> for a-Library aide to work 10 hours a week; that the manner in <br /> which this must be, done (due to a necessary aria endme-nt to the <br /> R.A.P.) is to submit an article to the warrant of the Annual <br /> Tin meeting. To assist therm in this, they r•eauested a copy <br /> f job descr.ip .ions of Librarian ,and 1i, r:1r � sistant for <br /> comparison, plus a recommended hourly salary for Library Aide. <br /> Mrs. Robertson accommodated them in their request by sending <br /> them the information, of. which copies es were passed out this evening. <br /> ti y <br /> Susan Van Tol relayed the inf or ation that the Finance Committee <br /> had cut from our FY182 F182budget Request the money for the Library <br /> Aide position, due to the fact that they had not received any <br /> supportive correspondence from the Personnel 1 Board for the Library <br /> .amide position. The Expense Account was accepted , and the salaries <br /> for th=e Librarian and Library Assistant were accepted with minor <br /> adjustments. <br /> lrs. van Tol also relayed the information that the Personnel <br /> Board had submitted- an article to create the Library Aide position, <br /> but had not requested funding for it in the article. This article <br /> rust include funding, since Finance Committee had deleted funding <br /> .in our budget. <br /> Mrs. Robertson had Letter in hand of April 3, 1981, from. the <br /> Personnel Board, stating that they were putting in an article,. <br /> to create and fund the Library Aide position. There was a slight <br /> discrepancy on the hourly figure that they quoted in this letter. <br /> Mrs. Robertson will Pontact the Personnel Board to cle�.r uta this <br /> matter, and to be sure that the submitted article does call for <br /> funding. <br />
