BOARD of LIBRARY TRUSTEES <br /> S <br /> REGULAR MONT Y MEETING <br /> r 'TUESDAY, AUGUST 10,2004 <br /> MASFB LIBRARY <br /> Present: favid Burton, Am MacDonald-Dailey,Heather Lakatos,Dianna Smith,, Carlo D"Este, <br /> Nancy Stafford, and Helene feoe,Library Director. <br /> David Burton, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. <br /> ARproval of Minutes <br /> Ann motioned to accept the Minutes of the Meetings held July 6, 2004 and July 13, 2004 a <br /> amended; Fianna seconded the notion and it was unanimously passed, except Heather abstained <br /> voting with regard to the July 6 minutes. <br /> Director's ate ort <br /> Helene provided copies of her July monthly report, as well as CLAS circulation reports and <br /> Janet Burke's monthly report. (Copies of hese reports are attached to the printed set of these <br /> minutes.) All reports were reviewed and discussed in detail. In addition,Helene noted the <br /> following: <br /> The Library phone out front went out of commission several weeks ago because of a <br /> wiring problem and in repairing it the end result was they also connected a phone to the <br /> jack at the other end of the counter so they now have two phones (one at each end of the <br /> counter), making desk area handling phones more efficient. <br /> Ad in for Sandy"s replacement and will run until August 13. <br /> Tuesday, August 17, Library will have cake and Open House for Sandy at the Library. <br /> David mentioned he has letter from Trustees drafted and will present to Sandy on the 174. <br /> Helene spoke with Ray Martini to try to schedule the painting project for September 9 and <br /> lo. <br /> Attempting to re-open Library on Friday sometime in September. <br /> Long-Range Plan...Helene provided the Trustees with copy of the Library Long-Range Flan for <br /> rd <br /> them to <br /> review and discuss at the next Trustee meeting. This Plan must he in by October . <br /> Helene asked the Trustees to contact her by the beginning of next week with their convents o <br /> the Goals portion because she has to have their input on the goals for a departmental meeting later <br /> next week. <br /> Discussion <br /> Bn*ef discussion was held about misunderstanding that arose over the closing of Steeple Street for <br /> the concert event last month. Consensus reached was that it was unfortunate and to seek to clarify <br /> the record by informally communicating there was no problem. <br />
