James Chishohn motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of November 14, 2006, as <br /> presented;Lolita McCray seconded the motion; and the motion was unanimously approved. <br /> Rgg ests for MCAT Fund <br /> Torn Mayo presented two iterns to be considered for funding by MCAT as briefly described below. Copies of ffie <br /> material presented by Toxo describing hese 2 requests are attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> I i <br /> (1) emote Access by Group 1 Solutions, Inc. to provide -vehicle Fire response system for Fire Department <br /> ($23,950.); and <br /> (2)Aerial 1[mageiy by EarthDatato update aerial imagery for Town since it was last updated in 2004 ($17,000). <br /> Item 1 ...Chief Baker addressed the Board saying he has been working closely with Tom Mayo and David <br /> I el ecchio to get computers in fire vehicles. Chief Baker said that with the emerging technology they are taking <br /> some of the computers they own now and started transferring GIS data to get information available in the field. He <br /> said he submitted a C-I-P.package for next year to the Town but is looking for"seed''money from MCAT to start <br /> the program incrementally, Chief Baker noted that the Police Department does everything using computers and <br /> they are looking at possibility for Fire Department to get data in the field. If this is all we diel,he said the Fire <br /> Department could be inputting data electronically,rather than manually. Chief Baker then stated that this would be <br /> a springboard to go to C-I-P;to put in Fire Department budget;or to cone hack to MCAT. ' <br /> Andrew and Lolita both com iented that it is important for all to keep in mind we are approaching the end of our <br /> 10-year contract with Comcast and there is no way for us to know what funds, if any, will he available in the <br /> renewed contract. Andrew asked: Is this technology needed since the Town is small` Chief Baker responded that <br /> e have 13,000 residents(20,.,000 summertime)and local knowledge of the Town is not as it used to be. As an <br /> example,he said there are multiple streets with names that are similar. For instance, Cranberry sane and Cranberry <br /> Avenue,which are at opposite ends of the Town, <br />
