Murphy <br /> GUESTS : Chester Koblinsky, Torn F'udala, Louise Behrman Christopher Burden, <br /> Len Gobiel, Dr. Elizabeth Petti, Diedre Greelish <br /> Mr. Gottlieb called the meeting to order at 3 : 04 p .m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Mr. Hanson moved to accept the minutes of May , 1988 , Regular Session. <br /> Mrs . Jacob-son seconded the motion. All were in favor, <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> New Seabury Corporation presentation regarding the articles for the <br /> Special Town Meeting, <br /> Christopher~ Burden and Len Gobiel attended to present the Board with - <br /> advantages <br /> ith - <br /> advanta es to the continuation of the Special Permit . Some advantages ; <br /> Legal guarantee of open space <br /> Permit provides flexibility/diversity, i.e . . cluster housing, single <br /> family home s <br /> ome disadvantages of the permit expiring in 5 years _ <br /> - would require accelerated development in New Seaburry <br /> Deem restricted areasopen space would no longer have the legal. <br /> guarantee they presently have. All lots with the execption of a few <br /> covered by the special permit wound become non-conforming. <br /> Mr, Hanson raised a question regarding accelerated development on <br /> the 5 vs . 20 yeatrm� !,,t - would this mean approximately Soo structures <br /> a year for 5 .years as opposed to 60 -- 65 per year over 20 years . <br /> Mr. Burden stated that this was correct . <br /> A number of comments regarding a hotel or "inn expansion" - Diedre Greelish <br /> asked if a hotel on the water would be appropriate in this location <br /> that amount of density in that area (waterfront ) . <br /> Dr. Elizabeth Petti asked if New Seabury needed to go through planning <br /> boards , etc. with this special permit . Mr. Burden replied that they <br /> had gore through this proces's back in 1964 when the special permit <br /> was issued . Dr. Petti questioned whether New Seaury should he working <br /> with outdated zoning by-laws . Mr. Hanson stated that New Seabury is <br /> not exempt from current building aend Board f Health and ori s e rvat t i ori <br /> standards , zoning issues are the standards that would be exempt , <br />
