Mrs. Barbara Sloane, spokesman and past Bicentennial <br /> Commission member met with the Board and read the <br /> following statement <br /> We are here to receive the original bicentennial <br /> Painting commissioned by that. Bicentennial Commission <br /> for '-its people for the 'down of Mashpee. It was <br /> picked up at the Barnstable County National Bank on <br /> December 4, 1979 by Selectman O'Connell. After many, <br /> many phone calls to the Selectmen' s office, with no <br /> results, we felt our appearance heretoday was impera- <br /> tive . The Bicentennial Commission ha.s arranged for <br /> { the painting to be placed in the library of the Mashpee <br /> 'r <br /> Middle School. Ve would like the painting now so that <br /> e may continue with- our plans for appropriate <br /> presentation. <br /> Mrs. . loane said -the--painting was now unprotected <br /> and she-- feared for -its -safety. <br />{ Joining this meeting were Mr. Frank Honey r and <br /> � <br /> Pauling De ory, past _me bers-.of this -commission. , In.. <br /> a -.letter firs . Mrs . e l-ory <br /> noted -that Iashpee was the only Cape town to obtain <br /> r <br /> the original watercolor painting by wren Rinaldo . <br /> thereby' increasing ., its value'. <br /> Acton: Every effort will be made to acquire the <br /> painting as soon as possible. Mrs . Sloane will be <br /> so notified. <br /> 2. fir-. Andrew Gottlieb, resident near to- and interested in r <br /> the management of Mashpee Wakeby lake met with- the <br /> Board to seek guidance for the necessary funds to <br /> provide 17 regulation igns for the lake. Cost of <br /> each sign, shackle and nope and 15 lb. mushroom <br /> •, anchor is approximately $45-00 ' each r a total of <br /> r <br /> $765.00. This has ret with- theHarbormaster's approval <br /> as he will be making the signs. Mr. Gottlieb will be <br /> placing and removing signs each year. <br />
