� T V BOARD of SELECTMEN MEETING March 30 , 1983 PRESENT: Chairwoman B. Jean Thomas ,, Selectman ChestorA. -Garland, Selectman Hanson was on vacation, Executive -Secretary Joseph F. Murphy, Town Counsel Joseph J, Reardon.. CT T : Mr. Tom Devane and Mrs . Vernice Polka. 2 :00 p.m, Chairwoman Thomas convened the meeting. Chairwoman -Thomas explained that because of a lack of a forum last weeks meeting had -been postponed until today. Notion by Selectman Garland to approve the minutes of the Marc, 16 , 1983 Regular Meeting. Seconded by ch . Thomas . This is a vote. 2 : 00 p.m. - chm. Thomas opened the public hearing on the LaCava Trust transfer of liquor license , relative to- the Quashnet Valley Lounge. The Board accepted the proof that notices of the hearing had -been sent to abutters , fir: Tom bevane would be the. acting- manager and he is a registered voter in the Town of Mashpee . . Chm, Thomas asked if Sel. Garland had any comments . Sel. Garland asked if the operating hours had been extended. Mr. evane said that the hours would be extended from 12 :00 to p.m. Board requested Mr. Devane sena in a ,written statement of fact and include the hours they are to be opened. Motion by Sel. Garland to approve the transfer of licens-e from. J.R, Umina a hnet valley Lounge to d/b/a Anthony Lacava Trust pending receipt of statement of fact and hours of operation. Seconded by chm. Thomas 4 This is a vote. Public hearing ended at 2 : 05 p omq* 2 : 30 p.m. -- The Hearing on Mr. Fri ion' s class II license was discussed and the Board decided to take no action at this time as he is in violation of zoning codes and will be handled through the Building Inspector's office. OLD BUSINESS : 1. Chm. Thomas said that Mr. Fred Peters had informed her that the surrounding towns all charge $25. 00 for non-residential shellfish license. After speaking with Bob Courtemnan he, Shellfish officer, there should be no charge in the structure until the court case in Wareham is determined,, el. Garland deferred action. 2. Board decided to have a meeting with the conservation Commission on Wednesday , Ap-ril 6 , 1983 at 3 :00 p.m. to discuss the application for funds for the cranberry bogs . . Chin. -Thomas said that she feels the Board should ask the Charter Commission to hold an other open meeting on the Charter. Shb explained that at their public hearing on the darter the weather was bad and not many pe ple attended. - She feels many people may still not understand the charter. el. Garland said he had no problems with the request. He feels it is okay to ask. . Board approved an Administrative Meeting for April . , 1983 at 9 : 00 a.rte. . Executive. Secretary explained that .the Board had approved the repairs
