BOARD of SELECTMEN MEETING <br /> April 27, 198 <br /> PRESENT : Chairwoman B . Jean Thomas, le tm' en Chester, A.- Garland and Willard <br /> L. Hanson, Executive Secretary Joseph F. Hazel, Oakley, <br /> Ms, Selena Coombs and Ms , Barbara Bearse Soli Ms, Florence Palace <br /> and George Ryan. <br /> 2 : 00 p.m. Chairwoman Thomas convened the meeting. <br /> Motion by Sel. Danson to approve- the minutes of the April 20 , 1983 <br /> meeting. Seconded .by Sel. Garland. This is a vote. <br /> 2 : 00 p.m. -- Public Hearing on the New Farm. Chm. Thomas noted that the <br /> hearing had been- published and that the hearing was to show <br /> Cause why the liquor License should not be -revoked. Mr-. Michael <br /> Kogut stated that they were ready to surrender their license with- <br /> out prejudice until May 2 , 1983 . Board accepted the license . <br /> Chm. Thomas adjourned the hearing with a continuation on May 25 , <br /> 1983 at 2 : 00 p.m. with. the understanding that Mr, Kogut is to <br /> get- approved by all .Ards 'Concerned, i .e. Building Inspector. <br /> As it was to' early for the next Public Nearingâ–  Chr . Thomas went to <br /> OLD BUSINESS* <br /> 1. Board reviewed memo from Police Chief Frere relative to Police Wage <br /> Account, Executive Secretary stated that' Chief Frye informed hire <br /> that he does not reed the transfer of the Reserve Fund" at this time . <br /> Chief Frye is doing all 'he Can . to stay within the money that he has <br /> until. Town deet ing. . e l. Hanson questioned numbers 2 and o f the <br /> memo, Board informed Sel. Hanson that Chief. Frye'. does not negotiate <br /> the contract, that he has to live with it. Sel. Hanson said that he <br /> feels there is something drastically wrong with the Contract, <br /> 2.) Sel. signed the letter of appre iation for Acting Fire Chief William <br /> Chase. <br /> . e l. Hanson said, that Mr. Vi rgi l io the Superintendent- o f Streets , had <br /> picked him up at. 7: 30 a.m, that day and. .they' had covered all the flumes . <br /> This discussion was relative to the problem , the Town is having with <br /> flooding at John' s Pond. Bis- us ion continued. Sel . Hanson said that <br /> they had talked to Mr, Atwood- and' Mr. Roger BurlinThey pulled out <br /> the plywood. Sed.. - Hanson said the whole problem .o grnates at the Cedar <br /> swamps . Mr. Virgilio said than' -if the Town will gine him the finances <br /> 'he needs he will clean out the area and allow the water to flow through <br /> the bogs without causing -damage to the crop . and give relief to everyone. <br /> Nor. Virgilio said that now that there. is - coordination and cooperation <br /> there should be no problem controlling the flow of- the water. Sel.. <br /> Hanson said .that Mr. Virgilio should contact LaCava as the, Cedar swamps <br /> are on - his property. Mr. ,Virgilio said that, he is going to contact <br /> the Conservation Commission also. <br />
