Reardon b <br /> GUESTS: Mr. Francis Brown from New England Telephone company, Ms, Arlene <br /> Hoxie, Mr. Ernest Virgilio, Attorney Selma Rollins , Mr. Vernon <br /> Thomas, Mr. Steve Arms President of, the Popponesset Association <br /> and Attorney Thomas Boyd. <br /> chm. Hanson convened the Selectmen' s meeting of May 9 , 1984 at :oo p.m. <br /> Motion by sel. Terry to approve the minutes of the May 2 , 1984regular <br /> meeting as written. Seconded by Chm. Hanson. This is a vote. <br /> HEARINGS AND APPOINTMENTS : <br /> 7 : 00 p.m. - chm, Hanson opened the New England Telephone public hearing <br /> n petition 84-566 for proposed buried cable, pedestal and <br /> one driven road crossing on Route 28, Mr. Brown stated that <br /> the Telephone Company had gotten their state permit and this <br /> petition was to provide service for Mr. Anthony DeDeco. <br /> chm. Hanson asked Mr. Virgi.lio -if he had any questions on <br /> this petition. Mr. Virgilio , Street Superintendent, _replied <br /> that this particular petition was on state property and that <br /> it had nothing to do with the town. He said the state issues <br /> the permits. <br /> Motion by Sel. Te'rry to allow New England Telephone' s petition <br /> number 84-566 for proposed� buried cable, pedestal and one driven <br /> road crossing n Route 28.. e and d by chm. Hanson. This is a <br /> pro t e. <br /> As it was not time for the next hearing the Board wont to old business . <br /> OLD BUSINESS : <br /> 1. Executive Secretary explained that the New England Telephone hearing <br /> of May 2 , 1984 had been taken under- advisement so that the street <br /> Superintendent could root with their engineers and find out exactly <br /> what they planned to do as the sketch was not clear. Nor. Brown explained <br /> that Mr. Virgilio had met with the engineers and that everything had <br /> been approved. <br /> Chan. Hanson asked Mr. Virgilio to comment on this petition. <br /> Ir. Virgi-lio replied that he had ret with the engineers in the field <br /> and the reason for the work is that they have been ha ing problems <br /> with the wind and the weather on the causeway. Excavation was discussed <br /> and they agreed to roll, back in plaice all the blue stone and to notify <br /> hire so that he can inspect. All the w6rk will be done on the causeway. <br /> hr . Hanson said that on Mr. Virgilio' s recommendations he would accept <br /> a motion. <br />
