Murphy <br /> Guests : Monica McNally, Mr, Thibodeau, Judy Mills , Jane Hendricks <br /> Selectman Hanson convened the meeting at 7 p .m. <br /> Appointments & Hearings <br /> 7 : 00 Selectmen held a public hearing on the petition of New England <br /> Telephone to palce 3 poles on Cotuit Road , <br /> Mr, Virgilio pointed out the only problem he had with this was the off- <br /> set of the poles . <br /> Mr . Thibodeau explained he would meet with Ernie on Friday to discuss <br /> this r rol lem. <br /> L <br /> Mr. virgil.i felt both parties could work out the diff erenc.es . <br /> Selectman Thomas roved to approve the petition of New England Telephone . <br /> Selectman Terry � sec nde - All were in favor . <br /> Old Business <br /> 1 . A summary of the propos-als submitted for the Ashuret Pond study <br /> along with a letter from Len Costa of Falmouth were submitted to the <br /> Board explaining the name of the firm KV Associates would be seat to <br /> Mcvoy for review, if selectmen concurr with this recommendation. <br /> Selectmen voted to concurr with Mr , Costa ' s recommendation and asked <br /> that a letter of support be drafted. . <br /> 2 ) . Selectmen received - a letter from the Historical Commission <br /> recommending the selectmen prepare a Resolution relative to the <br /> Barnstable County Tercentenary elebrat-ion and also that said resolution <br /> be read at the annual town meeting, <br /> w Selectmen were advised by the Historical' Commission that they were <br /> not prepared to make a recommendation .relative to okwar Chapel . <br /> . Selectmen received communication from Representative Cahir relative <br /> to a bill which was filed- at the request of Selectmen and based on the <br /> recommendation of Town counsel . <br /> Mr . Murphy pointed out the language was refined by the office of House <br /> Counsel and addresses the issue of bringing anon-conforming signs up to <br /> the new sign code . He also felt the Board should be prepared to testify <br /> in .its behalf . <br />
