y BOARD of SELECTMEN 4 T TE S WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 133 1985 Present : selectman Hanson, Selectman Terry , Selectman Thomas and Executive Secretary, Joseph F . Murphy Guests : Monica McNally, Mr, Thibodeau, Judy Mills , Jane Hendricks Selectman Hanson convened the meeting at 7 p .m. Appointments & Hearings 7 : 00 Selectmen held a public hearing on the petition of New England Telephone to palce 3 poles on Cotuit Road , Mr, Virgilio pointed out the only problem he had with this was the off- set of the poles . Mr . Thibodeau explained he would meet with Ernie on Friday to discuss this r rol lem. L Mr. virgil.i felt both parties could work out the diff erenc.es . Selectman Thomas roved to approve the petition of New England Telephone . Selectman Terry � sec nde - All were in favor . Old Business 1 . A summary of the propos-als submitted for the Ashuret Pond study along with a letter from Len Costa of Falmouth were submitted to the Board explaining the name of the firm KV Associates would be seat to Mcvoy for review, if selectmen concurr with this recommendation. Selectmen voted to concurr with Mr , Costa ' s recommendation and asked that a letter of support be drafted. . 2 ) . Selectmen received - a letter from the Historical Commission recommending the selectmen prepare a Resolution relative to the Barnstable County Tercentenary elebrat-ion and also that said resolution be read at the annual town meeting, w Selectmen were advised by the Historical' Commission that they were not prepared to make a recommendation .relative to okwar Chapel . . Selectmen received communication from Representative Cahir relative to a bill which was filed- at the request of Selectmen and based on the recommendation of Town counsel . Mr . Murphy pointed out the language was refined by the office of House Counsel and addresses the issue of bringing anon-conforming signs up to the new sign code . He also felt the Board should be prepared to testify in .its behalf .
