Selectman Lawrence seconded* A11 were in favor. <br /> Selectman Thomas announced that the regular session add .reconvene <br /> at a.m. <br /> The Board discussed with Chief Hartin his memo xe ati e �to <br /> maintenance expense. The Chief is looking for $3 ,000 -for the <br /> `ire Apparatus Equipment Maintenance & Repair Account due t <br /> ma or breakdowns in equipment. Also the Hurst Tool Cutters <br /> have been recalled by the distributor and to replace will cost <br /> approximately another $1 ,00-0 . <br /> Selectman Thomas felt that next budget year we should look at an <br /> emergency equipment repair account. <br /> The Board also discussed with the Chief the Deputy Chief ' s vehicle . <br /> Selectman Lawrence asked the Chief to explain hoer the lease agree- <br /> ment came about. <br /> Chief Hartin explained that last budget year he pint a line Ltem in <br /> his budget, in lieu of guidelines a to whether or not this was <br /> improper. The Finance Committee approved as well as town meeting <br /> approval . <br /> Selectman Lawrence asked why it was needed <br /> Chl f Hartin explained that he and the Deputy Chief are on call <br /> twenty-four hours and to provide the Deputy with a vehicle would <br /> allow the duty shifts .to have arp'le vehiclese <br /> Selectman asked what the total cost to the town would be. <br /> Chief Hartin was unable to answer the question. <br /> The Board requested Chief Hartin to come back with a. complete <br /> package as to exactly what he is getting and for how uch. <br /> Selectman Thomas would like to know if the Finance ori ttee is <br /> in favor of leasing or would prefer outright purchasing. <br />
