� r ! <br /> flI r <br /> 'f F <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Wednesday, August 13 , 1986 <br /> e alar Meeting <br /> Present: Selectman Thomas, Selectman Lawrence and Executive Secretary, <br /> Joseph P, Murphy <br /> .absent: Selectman Hanson on vacation <br /> Guests: See Attached List <br /> Selectman Thomas convened the meeting at 7 : 02 p.m. <br /> New Business <br /> 1 Selectmen reviewed the recommendation's of the Chief of Police and <br /> the Personnel. Board relative to the appointment of three full-time <br /> police officers pending psychological testing and pre-employment <br /> physicals . <br /> Selectman Lawrence moved to approve psychological testing and <br /> pre-employment physicals for Michael Sexton, Matthew Clancy and <br /> Randy DeMello. Selectman Thomas seconded. Motion carried. <br /> Selectman received a letter of resignation from V. Louise Behrman <br /> resigning as the Board' s representative to the Technical review <br /> Board.. <br /> Selectman voted to accept the resignation of Louise Behrman. <br /> Selectman Thomas explained that once she heard of Louise' s decision <br /> she reached out to Anthony Fiorentini who has attended a few meetings <br /> and who has helped to clarify information for Mrs . Thomas, and <br /> Mr. F'iorentini has agreed to accept appointment. <br /> Selectman Lawrence stated as it was the first time he had seem <br /> anything on this and, as the common practice is to advertise <br /> positions available he would ask that this be deferred until <br /> the position is advertised. <br /> The Board deferred action. <br /> 1�22ointments & Hearin s <br /> The Board met with various department heads and finance committee members <br /> to discuss the finaancial status of the Town. It was pointed out <br /> the Town has already spent $378 , 203 more than it has and if all the <br /> articles submitted for the two upcoming special town meetings were <br /> passed the Town would have a deficit of $724 ,255 . <br /> The Board discussed the options available and felt they should deal <br /> only with those articles they are legally and morally obligated to. <br /> x <br /> Mr. Blythe felt the only articles that Selectmen are obligated to are <br /> the unpaid bills , medicare and clerical contract. <br />
