Manny Costa of Costa' s -Fuel oil Company, Mashpee, had previously <br /> met with the Board of Health to discuss their regulation to <br /> tore petroleum products, Not being satisfied with their ex- <br /> planation, Mr, Costa ret with the Selectmen to explain the <br /> questions he. has about these regulations and to ask if Town <br /> -Coups l couldende6 r an opinion. The regulations state that <br /> a concrete vault shall be built, yet no dimensions are given; <br /> o size for the observation pipe; and the means of pressure <br /> testing is not indicated, Mr, Costa asked if theme were ex- <br /> ceptions to these regulations and was told by the Board of <br /> Health that any exceptions were at the discretion of their <br /> Board, <br /> ACTION: Town Couns- 1 will be requested to furnish an opinion <br /> on this subject. 4 <br /> . Robin Singer from the - Elder Services of Cape Cod & The Islands <br /> net with the Board in regards to the Federal Grant of 811-500- 00 <br /> under Title III-b of the older Americans Act to alter the' .-loc- <br /> ation <br /> he loc- <br /> ation of the heating duets on the lowe'r level of the Mashpee <br /> Senior Center. Miss Singer presented draft contracts for the <br /> Board and Town Couns l to review, <br /> PROBLEMS: The Town must provide $500. 00 as their share of Anis <br /> award. Director Thomas McGuire was under the impression <br /> that the preliminary work, which involved estimates to <br /> put the grant together would be the Town' s share, or, <br /> $500 , 00. This is not so. To acquire the $500, 00 may <br /> mean 'a request at a Special# 'Town Meeting, a transfer, <br /> or a donation from organizations using the Center, <br /> ACTION: After reviewing the proposed contract with Town counsdl, <br /> . -Mi s-.8inger will have a formal contract proposed by <br /> 11/7/79 for the Board' s approval. Of concern is the <br /> Affirmative Action plan called for In accepting these <br /> Federal monies . A plan used by the Department of Elderly <br /> Services will be sent for the B ard! s review and approval. <br /> Mr. George Trubi ano, Supt. of Streets, met with the -Board to <br /> recommend the acceptance of Bob ennell ' s Catch . Basin Bid, Having <br /> surveyed the surrounding towns , the bid of $19 . 00 per hour is <br /> not out of line. <br /> ACTION: Motion by Selectman Garland to accept the bid of Bob <br /> innell Catch Basin Cleaning Service per his quote dated <br /> 10/5/79 at $19. 00 an hour* Seconded by Selectman Benwar. <br /> Declared a unanimous vote by Chairman O'Connell. <br /> t <br />
