The <br /> first paragraph speaks to what you alleged in 1984 to be "nonccmpliances". j <br /> ... ; While you certainly are free to make these allegations, you also should state II <br /> clearly that your assertions in 1984 were not supported by the Department of <br /> Revenue's Bureau of Accounts. <br /> As your allegations were unfounded in 1984, I think it appropriate to <br /> 4 _ mention them in your 1985 report. <br /> Attached is a memorandum of the treasurer relative to the second paragraph <br /> of the "status of 1984 recommendations". Once again, a reader of your draft <br /> report is misled. <br /> Your comments with regard to permits of the inspection Department would be <br /> ` far more valuable if they reflected a familiarity of this departmeut. It is <br /> regrettable your staff personnel never inquired of the procedures of this <br /> 4s department. Similarly, the seasonal beach sticker permits are numbered by a <br /> : printer. To perform the same process on the limited number of weekly beach <br /> u, <br /> ' permits would cost more than the receipts for this small area of beach revenue. <br /> With .regard to the 1985 comments and recommendations, I note your comments <br /> with regard to town checks. Quite frankly, this is a recommendation that if <br /> adopted would cost the town additional dollars without measureable benefit. As <br /> an illustration, let me point out that I may attend a legislative conference I, l <br /> later this month at a cost of $35. We have two choices, send the check now; or <br /> have me bring the check. I may not attend because of other matters that may <br /> not allow the freedom to leave the office for a day.
