Our <br /> records reflect that your business is not currently licensed with the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 110, Section 5 states, Any person conducting business, <br /> whether individually or as a partnership, shall file in the Office of the Town Clerk of every city or <br /> town where an office of such person or partnership may be situated..." must have a Business <br /> • Certificate. There are two exceptions to this statute: <br /> If you are incorporated, please provide this office with a copy of the Articles of Corporation <br /> of your business. However, if you are incorporated, but doing business under a different <br /> name, you are still required to file a Business Certificate. <br /> If you are operating a business under your own full name. (e.g. John Doe Construction), then <br /> you are exempt from the requirements of MGL 110, S5. <br /> It behooves you to complete this application in a timely manner as we receive phone calls from <br /> residents inquiring if businesses are registered. <br /> The fee for your Business Certificate is forty dollars ($40.00), which must accompany your <br /> application and will be valid for four (4) years.
