S TOWN OF MASHPEE SENIOR CENTER BUILDING COMMITTEE Minutes of the Meeting of December 13, 2004 Committee Attendees: Also Attending: Irving Goldberg Jim Long, Director, COA Harold Klegman Ernest Virgilio, Clerk of the Works Jean Noussee Betty Nichols Art Weinstein Ed Adams Chairman Irving Goldberg called the meeting to order at 1:30 PM. REVIEW OF MINUTES The Committee unanimously approved the minutes from the meeting of November 22,2004. BILLS Irving Goldberg reported receipt of the following 5 bills: 1. $194,517 from Statewide Engineering. This will be the next to the last bill from Statewide, with just a few items still pending completion. 2. $2,560 from Clerk of the Works, covering the period from 11/22/04 through 12/10/04. There will be just one more billing from the Clerk of the Works. 3. $7,415.06 from JCA. This represents the final billing from the architectural firm. A site visit by JCA is due this week, as well as review of a punch list of items yet to be completed. 4. $1,081.23 from Comcast, to cover installation of 500 extra feet of cable. 5. $1,760 from Clerk of the Works, covering the period from 10/12/04 through 12/25/04. This bill was already approved by Joyce Mason, and has been paid. REPORTS Grant Manager. No report. Clerk of the Works. Ernest Virgilio reported the following items: 1. The Mashpee Building Inspector has required that the new building is to be locked down until the sewage hookup is completed. The ruling is now with the DEP for approval. Only Jim Long, Ernest Virgilio, the DEP, and Ray in Maintenance hold keys to the building. One of them must be present if there is a need for workmen to be inside the building. 2. The fire and police alarms are connected. Lights will be on by 12/14/04. 3. The traffic light at the entrance on Rt. 151 will be installed in the spring of'05. 4. Installation of the tree buffer zone behind the building is an important Abutter issue now, because of the building lights and parking lot lights which will be on after dark. Site Meeting. Chairman Irving Goldberg reported the following items: 1.The rugs were installed this past weekend. 2.Molding trim is to be installed tomorrow. 3.The automatic front door is being installed today. 4.There is still a lot.of paint touch-up work to be completed 5.Gutters need to be connected. 6.JCA is planning a site visit on Thursday, 12/16/04, with Ernest Virgilio and Irving Goldberg. They will compile a punch list of items still to be completed. 1 =
