undoubtedly ask for a meeting with the committee to discuss design considerations and
requirements.
Joyce Mason advised that we should not include the completion of the road straightening and traffic
light installation as an integral part of our Senior Center project. The Town is in discussions now
about these projects but the funds are not yet available. The Town is committed to these projects,
and eventually will be completed when funds become available.
Joyce will be following up with the Cape Cod Commission on the Senior Center project. If the new
Center goes beyond 10,000 square feet, which it probably will, then we will need the Commission
approval.
Iry Goldberg and Ed Adams will be attending the Selectmen's meeting on Monday, March 18.
Discussion on the Senior Center proposal will begin around 7 PM. Iry will review with the Selectmen
the pros and cons, what the risks are, what happens when, and will state that this committee's
proposal was based upon consideration of all these elements.
The next scheduled meeting of this committee will be determined after the Selectmen's meeting on
3/18/02. The meeting was adjourned at 2:20 PM.
After the background/reference checks: the order of ranking of architects has been changed,
presented to and approved by the Selectmen. The committee members agreed. ( See Attachment A
for details)
Respectfully submitted,
Ina G. Schlobdhm
Recording Secretary
Attachment
