• educational specs. He does not have a preference who the
consultant works for - the architect or Committee.
Mr. Griffin noted working for the architect, the consultant is
part of the team. If he has a different opinion with the
architect, the Committee may never know.
Mr. Franceschi recommends the building needs conference be held
now. The previous Committee's study can be presented and
combined with a site review. The Superintendent should set up
the meeting. Mr. Franceschi , Dr. Demoura and a representative of
the Committee should attend the meeting .
Ms. Ahlgren made a motion to ask Dr. DeMoura to contact SBAB to
set up a building needs conference and then report back to the
Committee with the date. Ms. Murtha seconded the motion. All
member in favor.
That precludes the need for the letter Ms. Murtha prepared, it is
what she wanted them to know about and start talking about.
The Committee discussed getting a survey done. It should be done
as soon as site is chosen.
The Committee asked what the architectural fee would be for a
• project of this size?
Mr. Franceschi stated it is not appropriate for him to comment
but the State DCPO can give guidance on that issue.
Should the Committee proceed with the RFP for the architect
before town meeting, "subject to" approval so they can interview
immediately after?
Mr. Dinizio will get feedback - is that the charge of this
Committee or should they only be concentrating on choosing a
site?
Things to do/talk about in more detail :
- Program/Project manager.
- Educational Consultant. Committee asked Dr. DeMoura to draft
criteria for RFP.
- Survey RFP - how to get it accomplished.
- Architectural Design RFP.
Mr. Dinizio read a letter from Robert Mills to Selectmen Vacarro
resigning from this Committee. The Committee will ask the
Selectmen to fill that vacancy with one of the Committee
alternates.
Janice Mills suggested the Committee re-establish Mr. Mills as an
alternate once a site has been selected.
Ms. Ahlgren made a motion to adjourn at 6 : 10 p.m Ms. Mills
• seconded the motion.
 5
