As part of our investigation we are researching the archeological implications of the
development of these sites.
As per my conversation with Connie Crosby of your office we are writing to you to request a
preliminary review of these two sites by the Massachusetts Historical Commission. Your
• offices findings would be an essential criteria in our evaluation and a possible factor in our
decision to recommend one site over the other.
We have enclosed copies of a Town of Mashpee map and enlarged maps of the two potential
sites. The proposed high school program with its related site development will occupy
approximately 60 to 80 acres. We recognize that as this project moves forward it will require
an Environmental Notification Form, but we are requesting this preliminary review at this time
to determine if there will be a need for further archeological investigation during the design
phase and whether there are any significant historical or archeological factors to affect the site
selection.
We will be submitting a draft of our report to the Town on October 26. If we received your
comments by October 22 we could incorporate them into this draft. We would appreciate
whatever you can do to assist this process.
Principals Thank you for your attention to this matter .
