the minutes the Committee had questioned the possibility of sharing the
sewage treatment plant. He explained that the project is now in limbo.
Someone has bought the mortgage but the issue is in Federal Court. The new
"owners" said they are considering reducing the size of the project so they
may not need all the capacity in the plant.
Tom said he and Steve Greelish are the Sewer Commission and they can
operate the plant as a town plant and hook up anyone they want to - there
is the mechanism.
Steve said the Southport plant is built and the equipment is in place but
it would take at least another $200 , 000 to make it operational .
Tom also explained the Southport project requires a traffic signal at the
intersection of Rte 151 and Old Barnstable Rd before they complete their
500th unit.
SMMA estimates the high school plant will cost about $800 , 000 .
Ray said the pool will also alter the size of the sewage treatment plant.
Agenda for meeting with Performing Arts Center - Tues. May 31st.
Peter asked the architect' s what they would like to accomplish?
Ed Frenette said hopefully we will reach consensus on Thursday afternoon .
Bob said we want to convey to them the portion of land that is available
for their facility and hear them out . We want to be as helpful as we can.
The Committee agreed they would like to spend some time with the architects
on Tuesday before meeting with performing arts center people .
The Committee will contact them and ask them to come at 5 : 00 p .m instead of
4 : 00 p.m.
** Merry Sue made a motion to adjourn at 6 : 35 p . m.
