not on a regular school day .
Tom thinks there is wasted space on the Old Barnstable Rd side, can they
move it all a little west?
Mark said a lot of relationships are determined by the building , not the
edge of the site. When we have a better idea of the building , we can move
the "units" around on the site .
Bill Martiros said he thought the performing arts center was looking for 10
acres of land . Last week we heard they need 35 . We are compromising the
siting of the school for them.
Merry Sue disagreed . She sees no compromising for them. There is no reason
to move this further south .
Bill said in his mind , he sees all kinds of compromises . The tone of their
project has changed and the town should look at it.
Ed Frenette said this site plan can "float" for a while . We need a building
first and get it costed and we can then look at some alternatives . He
thought it would be better to reach consensus when more Committee members
are present.
Peter explained the performing arts center does not have the money and they
don ' t have the land yet. They have to raise a certain amount of money
before Buff Chase gives them the land and they need the land before a swap
can occur. They will have to make a decision whether they are going forward
with the project soon . It might not happen . The Committee should have a
fallback position , in case Fields Point does not donate the land to the
performing arts center and we are then forced to buy the southerly piece of
land , and not swap for it.
Peter explained the architect ' s have asked that Committee members don ' t
contact them directly without going through the Chairman .
** Merry Sue made a motion to adjourn at 7 : 40 p . m. Joe seconded the
motion . All members were in favor. **
NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING: TUESDAY, JUNE 14, 1994 4 : 00 P.M .
Minutes submitted by Arden R. Cadrin
7
