We report accurately and <br /> fairly and bring everything to the table. <br /> Rick Herbolt, SRA Engineering from Quincy. He has sat on the School <br /> Facilities Committee for Hingham for many years. He has public <br /> development project expertise. In 1972 he was the construction manager for <br /> the City of Boston, built many high schools including Charlestown , Roxbury , <br /> Quincy. He worked for the City of Providence as the director of facilities <br /> for the school department and re-built many of that city's school <br /> buildings . <br /> SRA work load is 60% engineering work and 40% program management work . <br /> Chapter 140 is their business . <br /> Presently SRA is the construction manager for terminals at Logan Airport <br /> and the VA hospital in Boston . <br /> Mr. Herbolt said he understands the bidding law and the problems associated <br /> with it . <br /> He talked about equipping the building . No on thinks of procurement of <br /> furnishings and equipment up front. In his experience it has caused a lot <br /> of delay because it was not fit into the project and was not well <br /> coordinated. <br /> SRA staff consists of electrical , mechanical and plumbing engineers and <br /> architects. <br /> He explained you have to look at a project from an operation, maintenance <br /> and energy standpoint. If you don 't look at it way up front it will wipe <br /> you out with the maintenance and utility bills. Lifecycle costing is a <br /> very important part of the project. <br /> Mr. Pocillo explained Leher McGovern Bovis is owned by a major European <br /> firm and has over $1 1 /2 billion bonding capacity. This is a company of <br /> worth and substance . we are significant players . There is no engineering <br /> or architectural firm that we will be afraid of or concerned about. <br /> QUESTIONS <br /> Peter asked if they have any contracts with SMMA? <br /> They do not. <br /> Peter asked how they would operate day to day , how would they communicate <br /> with the Committee. What would we expect to see and hear from you? <br /> Mr. Pocillo said they would come up with a reporting format the Committee <br /> would like to see. The project manager would be here on a full time basis <br /> at the beginning of the project but you may not need a full time person for <br /> the entire project, we will work with you on that.
