MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY , AUGUST 9 , 1994 <br /> TOWN HALL <br /> Present : Janice Mills , Merry Sue Ahlgren , Joe Polito, Peter Dinizio, Paul <br /> Griffin , Bill Martiros , Joan Tavares , Michael Pare <br /> Also Present: Ian Aitchison , Dr. Lincoln DeMoura, Greg Taylor , Gus <br /> Fredricks , Bill Hauck , Elias McQuaid , Bob Whritenour <br /> Meeting convened at 4 : 05 p .m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> ** Paul made a motion to accept the minutes of July 26 and August 2 , <br /> 1994 . Merry Sue seconded the motion . All members were in favor . ** <br /> SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Land Acquisition . <br /> Bob Whritenour was present and discussed the problems in getting access to <br /> the Brynwood site . Since May he has been trying to reach their attorney . <br /> The attorney wanted a special contract before anyone entered the site but <br /> then Bob heard nothing from him regarding language for the contract . The <br /> attorney then refused to take calls . <br /> On August 8th Bob Whritenour wrote the attorney a letter asking again for <br /> their permission to enter the site or the Town will begin to pursue other <br /> means . <br /> He has contacted town counsel and will initiate anything that needs to be <br /> done for the town to enter the site, with or without owner permission . <br /> After faxing the letter , Bob received a phone call from an associate in the <br /> law firm asking for 1 more day . <br /> Bob is moving ahead with town counsel . A temporary taking may need to be <br /> done . It may cost the town money but it needs to be done . <br /> Paul said delays in getting on the property will cost money also. <br /> Appraisers - Bob has not talked with the appraiser to get a report on his <br /> work . This is an extension of the contract with Casey and Dennis who <br /> worked on the site selection process so no RFP is necessary . Bob had told <br /> him to initiate the work but he does not have a status report . <br /> Paul said the Committee would like to know when they can expect a full <br /> report from the appraiser . An offer to the land owners will be based on <br /> this appraisal . <br /> The Selectmen have the general authority to move forward and town counsel <br /> is drafting an article for town meeting . <br /> The Board agreed to ask the Selectmen to take immediate action to get <br /> access onto the Brynwood property . <br /> ** Paul made a motion to inform the Selectmen that due to lack of <br /> ability to get on the site , there may now be project delays and ask <br /> them to take any action necessary to obtain access onto the <br /> Brynwood site . Merry Sue seconded the motion . All members were in <br /> favor . ** <br /> 1 <br />
