to generate comments from the Committee and to make them part of the
process .
Bob Fournier said they have an obligation to bring this in as close to
budget as possible . There are choices and judgments to make.
Ian said presently , the biggest part of the estimate is the quantities.
After that material alterations are not a big deal .
Bob asked the Committee to study the document and get back to them with any
comments or requests .
The Committee agreed to coordinate their comments through Paul Griffin , fax
your comments to him ( home phone number) .
Paul has a concern about the theater showing an orchestra pit.
The plan is wrong , there will be no orchestra pit.
Merry Sue suggested the architect present to the Committee a balance
between an auditorium and a theater. She would like to know what is
available to us.
Paul said the $110 per sq foot includes a simple auditorium.
Peter explained Susan Butler has suggested designing the auditorium so it
backs up to the gym, with a movable wall to expand the seating capacity .
Ray said the back wall of the theater could open to the cafeteria but you
give up the sound booth in the back and acoustics .
Janice said opening of the wall ruins the acoustics of the theater . If you
need large seating capacity , use the gym.
Peter said this issue was also brought up by Bill Jones and he told Ms .
Butler he would mention it to the Committee .
Subconsultants - Ian explained nothing has been done and they are still
awaiting approval . Ian sent a letter to Bob Whritenour but he said the
Building Committee must take a formal vote and submit it to Bob and the
Selectmen .
** Paul made a motion to accept Chartwell ' s subconsultants TAMES and
Beacon and seek the Selectmen ' s approval as soon as possible.
Janice seconded the motion . All members were in favor . **
** Paul made a motion to accept SMMA 's subconsultants Childs , DeFao
Wait and Pare , Daedauls and BSS and seek the Selectmen ' s approval
as soon as possible.
