Joel will incorporate all the comments and send the RFP to
Childs , CCR and BKH .
Paul asked if Chartwell has any suggested firms to send the RFP
to?
Paul reviewed some of John Childs comment ' s :
- ask the consultant for K-12 experience . That is not really
relevant , ask for 7-12 experience .
- ask for criteria of their staff .
Childs has a lot of good points . Paul would rather see too much
information in the RFP than not enough.
Mike suggested adding the ability to fine them for not providing
information on time .
Paul thinks that would be a field day for the lawyers .
The Committee discussed whether they received all the information
requested from John Childs . Steve felt he had requested
information from Childs the was never created, he asked for more
detailed information from him. Paul said Childs revised his
final plan to address that . The Committee had asked for the
number of computers he based his budget on and he based it on a
criteria, based on schools of this size , not a number of
machines .
Steve felt the Committee did not get the information that CCR
got , or else CCR designed the system on their own.
Joel said CCR based the system on the program that Childs
submitted. There were 4 meetings with Childs and CCR and SMMA to
develop the wiring contract documents . Manny Tavares also worked
with them.
Paul said that John Childs felt he provided the answers .
Peter suggested adding coordination with Continental Cablevision
to the RFP.
Mike said Continental should be notified 3 weeks prior to pulling
any conduit .
Paul said Chartwell should continue to coordinate with the
Continental people . They want to be involved when the active
wiring starts .
GROUNDBREAKING/NEXT MEETING
Paul explained that because Stone is concerned about the safety
of people getting on and off the site , they would like it to be
cleared before the groundbreaking .
It has tentatively been scheduled for Tuesday, May 30th at 3 : 00
at the site .
Mike will have it videotaped.
Paul thought it would be nice for this Committee to send out
invitations .
The Committee will coordinate with Dr. Demoura and the Selectmen
on people who should be invited (Dr. Petti , Tom Cahir , Jim
Anderson, Bill Jones , etc . ) .
4
