MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES MONDAY, JULY 8, 19996 SENIOR CENTER Present: Paul Griffin, Merry Sue Ahlgren, Steve Greelish, Peter Dinizio Also Present: Jim Byrne The Committee reviewed the plans for the additional fields, road work and site lighting. This bid also includes irrigation of these fields. The fence is included in the base bid. It is an 8 ft fence around the perimeter of the football field with a 4 foot one around the inside of the track. Paul would like to see another gate added. The sidewalk along the entry is a requirement of the Cape Cod Commission. Lighting is for the football fields , basketball courts and tennis courts . The State wanted to see 4 lanes on Old Barnstable Road, so the design now includes 4 lanes . It required some takings . ** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval the bid from PA Landers for additional site work to include additional fields, field lighting and road work, for $644 , 000 (Base bid plus 3 alternates) . Merry Sue seconded the motion. Discussion: Is the road work a good price? Paul said it is . ** All members were in favor 4-0** CCD #18 for the curtain for the auditorium, additional air conditioning for auditorium and lighting in the TV studio of "{ $40,000. Paul explained that Joel feels the TV studio lighting is ;i an integral part of the job. 1 Steve said there is no way it should cost $40,000. We will have to do it when we do the other lighting. Merry Sue wants to see details . Paul said Joel feels it is important to do it asap. There are ceiling changes, pole rigging, a lot of circuits. He does not disagree with Steve, it is a lot of money. He will take $40 , 000 out of CCD #18. Paul suggested having Mike talk to the Committee about what lighting is required for each of these locations. Paul spoke with Manny Tavares today. He feels the 44 . 8 million will only be slightly under. It will depend on what we select 1
