MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, AUGUST 12 , 1996 <br /> HIGH SCHOOL SITE <br /> Members Present : Paul Griffin, Merry Sue Ahlgren, bill Martiros , <br /> Joe Polito, Janice Mills , Steve Greelish <br /> Also Present: Jim Byrne , John Williams , Tom Wren, Michael Kirwin, <br /> Joel Seeley <br /> Meeting convened at 4 : 05 p.m. <br /> Tom sent Ian' s apologies for not being in attendance , he broke <br /> his leg over the weekend. <br /> FF & E - Technology <br /> Mike Kirwin was present . He has reduced the quantity of <br /> computers, from the previous meeting , by 30%. After working with <br /> John Williams, they identified classrooms which will be occupied <br /> this September and also fully equipped the common rooms . <br /> Paul asked why there was no description for Phase II? <br /> Mike Kirwin said that will be hardware and curriculum specific <br /> software that John Williams will have to sort out over the next 9 <br /> month period. He will make decision that are right for the <br /> school for that phase . <br /> Merry Sue noticed the price for teacher' s computers has gone <br /> down? <br /> Mike said that Compaq has just cut hundreds of dollars from that <br /> one model . <br /> Mike presented 5 packages of information for the Selectmen and <br /> purchase orders ready for their signatures to facilitate and <br /> simplify the process . <br /> Joe asked if he had increased the student computers to 133 mhz? <br /> Mike said yes, that model is the new release. <br /> Paul asked John Williams , there are scheduled to be 5 machines in <br /> each classroom, does it make sense to put all 5 in now? The <br /> graphics and CAD labs , are they going in now or could they be <br /> deferred 6-9 months in order to get the longest life? <br /> John said deferring it is fine . He will go through the order <br /> before it is placed and identify any further computers that can <br /> be deferred. <br /> Paul asked if they need all 74 teacher computers? <br /> Mike said that is teachers , administration and support staff and <br /> includes the library work stations . <br /> Again, John Williams will go over the blueprint to see where <br /> those are to be located to determine if any can be deferred. <br /> Mike Kirwin will get a copy of the blueprint to John Williams . <br /> Mike Kirwin said as of 1 : 30 today he was still discussing the bbn <br /> 1 <br />
