Paul asked if the Committee should accept Sec . 109? <br /> Manny said items 5 & 6 he recommends accepting the low bid . <br /> ** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval <br /> and preparation of a purchase order Sec 109 , business machines for <br /> $16 , 725 . Merry Sue seconded the motion. All members were in favor <br /> 6-0** <br /> Merry Sue asked what the difference is between re-bidding and using the <br /> State contract? <br /> Manny said time element , with the State contract you could have the item in <br /> a matter of days . The prices should be about the same . <br /> The representatives of the equipment will meet with Dr. DeMoura and Manny <br /> and Manny and he will make a recommendation to the Committee on the first 4 <br /> items in that category. <br /> Custodial and Grounds Equipment : this is a re-bid of some of the items from <br /> the first package that did not receive any bids - i . e . truck. The price is <br /> for a gas and diesel truck. Diesel is $2 , 000 more . <br /> ** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval <br /> and purchase order preparation custodial and grounds equipment , <br /> Sec . 110A, for $43 , 175 . Merry Sue seconded the motion. <br /> Merry Sue asked with the other items are? <br /> Manny said a welding machine , broadcast spreader . <br /> Joe asked if there will be a problem with obtaining diesel fuel? <br /> The Mashpee DPW has diesel . <br /> ** All in favor 6-0** <br /> Audio-Visual Equipment : Manny said the video imager has a quantity' of 3 and <br /> he is questioning that , is there a need? <br /> Mike Pietrowski said it is an overhead projection imager , ' they thought one <br /> would be for the science labs ( helps with microscope work) , 1 in the <br /> graphics area and 1 for general request use . <br /> Manny Tavares would suggest accepting Almo as an alternative to the low <br /> bid . <br /> Paul asked about the $425 worth of items there were no bids for? <br /> It was for a camera support unit and studio ladder. <br /> Dr. DeMoura said because it is only $400 , you only have to use your best <br /> business sense , not re-bid it . <br /> Paul asked Manny if we need some staging in the auditorium to get to the <br /> lighting? <br /> Manny said it was specified. <br /> Steve said technology in the area of the video imager is moving so quickly, <br /> he questions if we should buy 3 now. <br /> Paul suggested doing a second phase , buy 1 now and take another look at <br /> that item in 6 months . <br /> (Deduct 2 video imagers ) . <br /> 2 <br />
