Fee Invoices:
SMMA: For quality and contract compliance for June and July.
Peter asked Jim what SMMA has bene doing during this time?
Jim said they have been dealing with town counsel re: PA Landers, working on sketches for the
wheel chair lift. Joel has visited the site.
** Merry Sue made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval and payment
$4,577 to SMMA. Joe seconded the motion. All members were in favor 4-0**
Chartwell: for basic services, project management, clerk of the work and secretarial services and
Invoice for Coastal Welding for TV bracket work.
** Merry Sue made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval and payment
$14,323.74 to Chartwell. Joe seconded the motion. All members were in favor 4-0**
Peter asked when Chartwell thought they would be done here?
Jim said Don Cook has more work than he can handle right now. To throw all of this to him now
would be too much. He needs Chartwell's help with all the warranty work. He expects Karen
will be here 2-3 days through September. Jim will remain flexible through September. They will
push to have all FF& E done by September. They will probably be here until November.
Jim said there are 2 major items remaining: the wheel chair lift in the auditorium and the cracks
on the outside of the building.
Sports Field Lighting: Jim explained Pat Costello has said we could attempt to get rid of PA
Landers but that would take months. PA Landers has said they have ordered the lighting. We
were afraid they had not really ordered it but we are now fairly convinced they have. The poles
are due to be shipped 9/26 and the fixtures and lamps shipped 9/22.
We should charge them for cost of delays. There is$284,000 remaining in their budget.
r scoreboard will be delivered the week of Sept 22nd at the latest.
The outdoor P
The second phase of computers were delivered yesterday, without monitors.
Jim has told CIC they cannot work on installation during the school day. If they can't complete
the work before school opens, they will have to pay a custodian to keep the building open for
them during the evening.
Janice asked the status of the front entry sign?
Jim said Mike Day, sign maker, came to a meeting a gave the Committee a few proposals. The
Committee never made a decision. His suggestion is to order better quality letters and have
Chartwell's welder weld them on a piece of metal that will be bolted through the brick. They
will much less flimsy letters.
Joe said to make sure there is no space between the letter and the steel they are welded to.
Everyone agreed it sounds like a good solution.
